What is Google AdMob?
Google AdMob is Google’s mobile ad network for monetizing Android and iOS apps via SDK. Publishers integrate AdMob → serve banner, interstitial, rewarded, native → earn from Google Ads demand and third parties via mediation (AdMob Mediation → AppLovin MAX, ironSource, etc.).
For advertisers, AdMob is not a standalone UA console like Meta; in-app buying runs through Google Ads (App campaigns / UAC) and DV360 matched to AdMob inventory. In arbitrage, “AdMob” often means traffic from Google’s app ecosystem — CPI/CPE offers, gaming, utilities.
Formats (publisher side)
- Banner / adaptive banner. Persistent or inline.
- Interstitial. Full-screen between sessions.
- Rewarded. Video for in-app currency — see rewarded traffic.
- Native advanced. In-feed units matching app UI.
UA tracking
Google App campaigns use Firebase/GA4 conversions; external tracker via click URL and S2S. Sub ids in final URL where supported. iOS: SKAdNetwork + ATT limits on granular data.
Practice
AdMob inventory tends to be cleaner on tier-1 GEOs but CPI is higher. Operators combine UAC + AppLovin + Unity for scale. Watch install fraud and SDK spoofing.
