What is Redirect Traffic?

Redirect traffic is users acquired through HTTP redirect chains: domain parking, expired URLs, traffic back, monetized exit redirects. A click or page load triggers 302 hops → final offer or ad network. Often overlaps pop, RTB feeds, and domain parking.

Sources

  • Domain parking and typo domains.
  • Expired domains with residual SEO/link traffic.
  • Publisher traffic back — unsold exit inventory.
  • Affiliate smart links with conditional redirects.

Quality

Low intent, high bounce; cheap CPM. Advertisers may ban redirect-only funnels. Chain transparency matters — hidden redirects drive chargebacks and bans.

Tracking

Redirect tracking with click id on each hop; monitor latency — each redirect cuts CR.
