What is Domain Warming?

Domain warming is gradually increasing traffic to a new landing or tracking domain to lower the risk of suspicious spam/malware flags, blacklists, and harsh ad moderation when a “young” URL suddenly sees huge volume.

New domains without WHOIS and traffic history often trigger platform filters, antivirus lists (Google Safe Browsing), and push/mail systems. Jumping to 10k clicks/day on a domain registered yesterday is a ban pattern.

Typical plan

  1. Correct DNS, SSL, privacy policy, unique landing content.
  2. Small legit traffic volume (white-hat or low spend) for 3–7 days.
  3. Gradual budget increase; watch bounce and malware scans.
  4. Rotate at first flags; backup domain already warming.

Tracking vs. landing

Warm both: tracking domain for redirects and landing domain for moderation crawlers. Do not use a fresh domain only for an aggressive money page without trust building.

Myths

Warming does not legitimize cloaking or prohibited offers — policy violations ban “warmed” domains too. It reduces technical and reputation risk, not grey/black content.
