What is Cloaking?

Cloaking is showing different content to ad platform moderators, bots, and real users: moderators see a white page (safe content), users after checks see a money page with aggressive or prohibited offers. Implemented via IP, User-Agent, referer filtering, device fingerprinting, JavaScript challenges.

It explicitly violates Meta, Google, TikTok, and most network rules (policy violation, circumvention). Consequences: ad disapproval, account ban, withheld funds, domain blacklists.

Why arbitrageurs use it

Bypass vertical bans (gambling, nutra claims, crypto) and pass moderation with creatives that do not match the landing. Short-term profit comes with high operational risk: account farming, domain rotation, lost deposits.

Platform detection

Re-reviews, manual checks from consumer IPs, ML on behavioral signals, user reports. “Grey” bridge pages without outright deception still risk misleading ad policies.

White-hat alternative

Aligned creative and landing, compliant pre-land, GEO/offer changes instead of deceiving moderation. More sustainable for brand and payout history long term.
